In November 2009 Bernard Sshouwey, who is excellent wildlife photographer and my friend specialized on Alp’s wildlife: //www.valphotos.com invite me to visit Montoer-en Der. During this visit Bernard told me - maybe we can organize your own exhibition here, and you will be the first Bulgarian photographer representing your country on this great event. I said - Pourquoi pas! After that Bernard put all his effort this to become real. Thank you Bernard!
In the period November 18-21st 2010 I had the pleasure of presenting an own exhibition at “Montier-en-Der” – the greatest festival for nature photography organized in Europe.
For the past 14 years the Festival has been organized in the French village of Montier, close to the lake of Lac du Der. The lake is famous for its thousands of Cranes /Grus grus/, which gather here during their autumn migration.
This year the four days of the exhibition attracted over 40 000 visitors.
They all came to see over 70 photo-exhibitions of individual authors, photographer clubs and associations, as well as a fine selection of the most spectacular and significant photo competitions such as the ones of BBC wildlife, GDT, Golden Turtle, etc. These were complemented with slideshows presentations, movies and lectures, all taking place in the village of Montier and its adjacent areas.
My exposition, which presented the wildlife of Bulgaria, was located in the big chapiteau (tent) in the centre of the village. Many other expositions were arranged in near-by buildings, spread all over the village. Some works were even displayed outdoors. The village itself is quiet and calm and the short walk from one exhibition room to the other only contributes to the pleasant stay of the visitors.
In addition to the pleasure of seeing so much beauty concentrated, the event presented me with a splendid opportunity to meet famous authors as well as many admirers of wildlife photography
